Do it anyway
all of it
I’m playing a free concert this Friday at Poster House Museum in Manhattan
Friday, April 3rd
7-8pm performance
FREE! All ages! Accessible!
Poster House is a museum that specializes in… posters. There are three great shows up right now, including one of my BFF Molly Crabapple’s art. I will have a few of these incredible silk-screen posters for sale on Friday.
Just a fractal and their sword, making music…
BFF Molly has a book coming out on April 7th and I am so very proud! The book, “Here Where We Live Is Our Country,” is about the Jewish Labor Bund - a secular, socialist, anti-zionist group that flourished in Europe in the early part of the 20th century. The story is riveting, the history is confounding, the writing is excellent. Molly writes like she was there, the people - who were real - feel real because Molly’s writing gives them bodies as well as minds, gives them insufferable annoyances as well as heroic actions. This is an exceptionally written and very well-researched book of a long-forgotten history, and a necessary story for our time.
Pre-order this very excellent book here.
For the past few months I have been performing my own rendition of Shtil Di Nakht - a famous WW2 partisan song about a young woman blowing up a Nazi supply train. Sung in yiddish and english.
I’ll perform this song on April 3rd at Poster House
Free to attend - RSVP HERE
The world is on fire, the most monstrous humans are in charge and they are unleashing their cruelty on the rights and lives of millions of others. To say I am distressed would be an understatement. And I am also alive, and so are you.
So live.
We win by continuing to exist, as we always have, those of us who love each other, who want the best for each other.
The world is on fire and we do it anyway.
Fractally,
Max
